Bonsoir~
We got a bit of a late start this morning because Neal accidentally poured Omo all in his hair and shirt, thinking it was water (we had put Omo in a big Laafi water bottle for ease of pouring). We found out a couple things from this experience. First of all, Omo makes a LOT of suds. Like, a LOT. Secondly, it gives your locks a lot of bounce and shine. Lookin' good, Neal!
We hung out at Isy's house the rest of the afternoon, writing our speeches for the fete in Bobo tomorrow, showering, admiring the beautiful sunset, and playing with the kids...
After the sun went down, the fete began. Isy and the town had organized a dinner and entertainment for us. Tam-tammers came along with dancers and performers. The local officials made speeches of welcome and gratitude, we gave out the certificates, and then we all ate massive amounts of rice and fish from the local barrage. Sleeeeppyy.
We arrive in Bobo tomorrow! We're expecting a ton of volunteers and we can't wait to see everyone. A bientot!
I don't think anyone who knows you guys is at all shocked that you sang. And sang that song in particular. If anything, I think they would be shocked that it took you this long.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the blog and, more importantly, all your hard work. I kind of wish that I was around for this.
Tell Burkina I say "salut!"
Danielle! I totally wish you were here--you would love this.
ReplyDelete...it is rather bizarre that it took us so long to sing and sway...maybe it was because we were supplementing our cheesy sayings with lots of "HUZZAH!"s...not joking. :)
We miss you!
